Android 11 Developer Preview 3 now available with new features
  • PublishedApril 27, 2020

Google has started to roll out Android 11 Developer Preview 3 with improvements and bug fixes. The main highlight of the Android 11 Developer Preview 3 is the integration of gesture sensitivity options. You will be able to customize the sensitivity of not only the left but also the right edges. After customization, the Android 11 Developer Preview 3 displays a prompt with the message – higher sensitivity may conflict with any app gestures along with edges of the screen.

The purpose of the gesture sensitivity functionality is to improve gesture navigations on the upcoming and recent Android phones. The upcoming Android 11 brings larger previews of the recent applications. Moreover, the shortcut buttons will be larger than the current ones.

The Android 11 will ship with a new feature, which automatically revokes permissions for those apps that are not used for a long time. This will prevent dormant apps from accessing your data in the background. The update also includes the screenshot pop-up menu without the ability to capture scrolling screenshots.

The addition of Ethernet tethering enables you to share smartphones’ connectivity via USB tethering. This feature is in addition to the existing Bluetooth and USB tethering features. You will find plenty of new features inside the newly baked Android 11 Developer Preview 3. The public beta will launch in May and you will be able to experience the features in a table build by then. We will continue to keep track of the developments.
