Asus has rolled out a new firmware update for the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M1 smartphone via FOTA. With FOTA version number OPM1.WW_Phone-15.2016.1901.339-20190108, the latest update improves system stability. Moreover, the Google Android security patches are updated to January 2019.

After the installation of the update, you will be able to work with the latest software with enhanced security measures. According to Asus, the new FOTA update will be pushed in a phased manner. Hence, it will take a few days for the new update to hit your smartphone.

It is advisable to establish connectivity with Wi-Fi before proceeding to download the update to avoid interruption. However, if the update is less than 500MB, you can proceed with a 4G mobile connection. The update will download quickly than Wi-Fi. You should also verify the storage space since you need atleast 2GB free. Alternatively, you can also manually check for the presence of the update by tapping the Settings icon.
