Huawei has announced the launch of the much-awaited Huawei P20 and P20 Pro smartphones at an event held in Paris. The highlight of the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro is the handsets comes with an advanced camera coupled with a notch identical to that of the iPhone X. Moreover, the standard and pro models ships with a triple camera and dual rear camera lens respectively.

Huawei P20

The Huawei P20 (EUR 649) is equipped with a 5.8-inch RGBW full vision (2240 x 1080, 18:9) display, Kirin 970 processor, 4GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, 12MP+20MP Leica dual camera, 24MP front-facing camera powered by a 3400mAh battery. The selfie camera offers AI beautification with support for 3D portrait lighting.

Huawei P20 Pro

The Huawei P20 Pro (Euro 899) features a 6.2-inch OLED full vision (2240 x 1080, 18:9) display, Kirin 970 processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB internal storage pre-loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo on top of EMUI 8.1 interface. The triple camera consists of 40MP (f/1.8) RGB, 20MP (f/1.6) monochrome and 8MP (f/2.4) telephoto lens sensors respectively.

The handset also ships with a colour temperature sensor, which helps in better color reproduction. On the front, you have access to a 24MP sensor with support for AI beautification and 3D portrait lighting.

The highlight of both handsets is the integrated support for wireless charging. Moreover, the devices will be available in black, pink gold, midnight blue, and twilight color variants. You can capture super slow motion videos at 960fps, which is already available with Galaxy S9 series.

According to Huawei, the P20 series is capable of identifying more than 500 scenarios in 19 categories with a wide range of photography modes and camera settings. The handsets also offer support for Google’s ARCore for advanced augmented reality capabilities. Talking about advanced capabilities, the Huawei P20 Pro provides a Leica 3x telephoto lens, which is specifically designed for long-range photography.
