OnePlus has rolled out OxygenOS Open Beta 23 based on Android Pie for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T smartphones. According to the official changelog, the OxygenOS Open Beta 23 features updated Android security patch 2018.12. Hence, you will be able to work with all the latest features. The update also fixed issues associated with custom accent color including Face Unlock optimizations.
The OxygenOS Open Beta 23 has fixed UI issues associated with the scroller in the app drawer. It also brings enhanced color adaptation for the navigation bar. It is to be noted that the latest build is prone to be unstable because of the nature of the beta version.
The company has warned against potential risks involved with the installation of the build. Moreover, you are advised to report any bugs on the official discussion forum. The Feedback module has been integrated into Community app to enable you to share and report bugs.
To submit a new bug report, you need to navigate to Community app | Profile | Feedback | click on + icon | select a category. You should complete the description, attach screenshot images and click on the Submit button.
Before proceeding to download the update, you should activate Wi-Fi and charge the device up to 100 percent. You should also free up storage space but this won’t be a problem since OnePlus handsets ships with plenty of disk space. It is also advisable to capture a backup of all the files including images and videos for the sake of safety purposes.
