WhatsApp rumored to sync chat history across Android and iOS with multiple devices support

WhatApp is rumored to be working on new functionality, which enables you to use the same account across multiple devices simultaneously. As of now, the Facebook-owned messaging app works only on one device per mobile number. With the availability of the new feature, you can work with the same WhatsApp account on up to four multiple devices. The new feature will be made available to Android and Apple App Store.

If you would like to work with WhatsApp on a secondary device, you will most likely face the problem of the chat history. You will be required to make use of the Wi-Fi connectivity since it requires a large amount of data plan. The login process will kick start immediately you establish connectivity to the Wi-Fi network. According to WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp Desktop will also work on a secondary device.

You can use your WhatsApp account as soon as you finish copying the chat history to the secondary device. The messages will be delivered to your family devices. Hence, your chat history will be synced across platforms. The encryption key will automatically change when you remove a device. All your active chats are notified when your encryption key changes if your security notification is enabled.

There are rumors that WhatsApp has also developed an iPad app, which will release after the arrival of the multiple devices functionality. Going forward, you will be able to use WhatsApp on not only your iPhone but also iPad simultaneously. We don’t have any knowledge about the support between Android and iOS devices. It requires complicated database modifications and there are reports that the product team is working on this feature.
