Xiaomi has rolled out MIUI 9.5 update for Redmi Note 5 smartphone in India. With software update version MIUI 9.5.4.0.NCFMIFA, the Redmi Note 5 has started to receive the latest MIUI 9.5 Global stable build. After the installation of the update, you will be able to work with new features and improvements. Moreover, the company also pushed bug fixes, which eliminates all the previously reported bugs.

According to company sources, the MIUI 9.5 update will be made available to over 30 smartphones and tablets including the outdated Redmi Note via OTA in April. The update brings in quick search options including the ability to resume interrupted transfers in the Mi Mover app. Xiaomi also integrated an optimized browser kernel with a refreshed start page. The sound recording options have been updated inside the screen recorder app.

Based on the nature of the update, it will take few days for the new MIUI 9.5 to reflect on the Redmi Note 5. you will view a message notification when the update is available. If you don’t have patience, you can manually check for the presence of the update by navigating to Settings | About phone | System updates.

The size of the update will be higher and hence you need to establish connectivity with Wi-Fi to download the update. You should also charge the device up to 100 percent to avoid interruption. It is also possible to flash the ROM via both recovery and fastboot methods.

On the specifications front, the Redmi Note 5 is equipped with a 5.99-inch FHD+ (2160×1080, 18:9) IPS display, Snapdragon 625 Processor, Adreno 506 graphics, 3GB/4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB expandable internal storage, 12MP rear camera, 5MP front-facing camera powered by a 4000mAh battery. The chipset is manufactured using 14nm technology coupled with IR Blaster.

The device is pre-loaded with Android Nougat 7.1.2, which helps you to work with all the latest features such as split-screen, improved multitasking, and enhanced power saving mode. The disadvantage of the smartphone is that it includes dual Nano SIM. Hence, you can’t use microSIM cards.
